Just want to say thank you to U.S. District Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen, who on Thursday overturned Virginia’s ban on same sex marriage. It’s yet another step. Momentum is on the side of equality, and eventually all the states will have to recognize that love is love, whether you’re gay or straight.
So, when Don’t ask, Don’t tell was repealed, it should have been it, right? Sanity should have prevailed, all the people discharged should have been upgraded to an honorable discharge or allowed back into the service if they were able. Well that wasn’t the case for so many of our brave men and women who served in our military, who fought for our country, but were discharged under that awful policy and before it. If they were given a discharge for being gay, they may have even been blocked from getting all the benefits the honorably discharged member who served alongside them received. Now a new bill being introduced in the US Senate could fix that. All I can say is it’s about time!
Ahhhhhh! This is one of the most horrifying things I’ve ever heard. Now I have to look up every time I walk under a tree, just in case croc wanders into my part of the country. What next, will they learn to fly?
